SLIDOSUAR

The concept for this project was to disconnect the object function from its image. The "Matua" Slidosuar is a children's slide and an art object in one. By giving the fictitious creature a name and a story, we, to some extent, animated the character, hoping to evoke in children an emotional reaction to our object as a living being. In its way, this embodiment of the widespread childhood fantasy of being friends with a mythical dragon.

It is strictly a functional object. You can run around and under it, play out different scenarios, and slide down from its tail. For an observer who does not use the slide, it's just a character, an illustration with an interesting image and history. Such facilities make the urban environment interesting and unpredictable. The children's slide is located in the LCD "Malinovka" in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russian Federation.

The overall dimensions of the piece are around 10ft by 25ft. CNC milled plywood.
