Mokosh Rising: A Journey of Ancestral Reverence and Reconnection

During summer 2024, we gathered under the warmth of the sun to create Mokosh Rising, an intimate cinematic and anthropological exploration of the sacred rituals honoring the Slavic goddess Mokosh. This project wove together myth, nature, and spirit, inviting participants to embrace ancient cycles of life, death, and rebirth.

Through dance, fire, and water, we resurrected ancestral memory—paying homage to our roots while discovering how these ancient traditions can guide us in reconnecting with ourselves and the natural world.

Mokosh Rising stands as both a film and a ritualized reflection on the power of women, fertility, and the enduring magic of Earth's cycles.
